Extending support to the Save Soil Campaign, a global campaign for soil rejuvenation, M.M. Public School conducted a rally on 5 December 2022 under the tutelage of Principal Madam Ms. Rooma Pathak to help students understand how the soil is degrading and what can be done to prevent it.

Save Soil, a global movement launched by Sadhguru has triggered the concern for soil among the youth. The rally spread the message among the citizens to support leaders of the nation to make national policies and take actions towards increasing the organic content in cultivable Soil.The degrading agricultural practices is affecting our planet at an alarming rate. So, it is the duty of every individual to conserve soil. Though students have been doing numerous activities that motivated them to change their lifestyles and conserve soil for future generations, this rally gave a significant perspective to all.

Indeed, the presentations in rally got the children close to nature and gave them an insight about conserving and preserving the soil.

“All of us are equal and therefore, we all must be treated equal. Let us treat people with disabilities at par with the rest of the population.”

Disability inclusion is an essential condition to upholding human rights, sustainable development, and peace and security. It is also central to the promise of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to leave no one behind. The commitment to realizing the rights of persons with disabilities is not only a matter of justice; it is an investment in a common future.

A special painting competition was organised for differently abled students in order to give them platform to express themselves and gain confidence. Themes on Sustainable Development were personally chosen by principal ma’am and was explained to these special students before they start painting and then were left free to paint their imagination.

The result of that was beautiful not only on the drawing sheets but also on the faces of the students. A day was well spent by all, together we have made great progress toward an inclusive world, but there is still much to do.

In order to disseminate the details of acts of bravery and the life stories of these brave-hearts among the students, an Interactive Session was organized on 1 December 2022 under VEER GATHA PROJECT 2.0 proposed by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and CBSE.

Col. Puneet Salhotra, a retired Army Officer from Indian Army was welcomed by honorable Principal Madam Ms. Rooma Pathak. The officer shared the stories of bravery of Indian Armed Forces and Gallantry Award Winners. The officer recounted instances of gallantry by members of the Indian Armed Forces and Gallantry Award winners. Along with describing the Project, he also stressed the importance of teaching children how they may contribute to their country. Knowing how courageous and difficult it is for soldiers to protect the nation's borders so that the general populace can live in safety in their homes further encouraged the pupils.

Thus, the query session further clarified the students specifically the NDA aspirants to give the best shot if they want to serve their motherland. The school management expressed gratitude to the guest for such a knowledgeable session and applauded the efforts of Ministry of Defence (MoD) and CBSE.

‘If we are to achieve all of the Sustainable Development Goals, what better than Art?’

Human beings face various challenges, such as climate change, respect for human rights, hunger, water scarcity, etc. These challenges can only be solved from a global perspective and promoting sustainable development through various initiatives. In order to promote sustainable development and mobilise students to pursue these goals, Smt. Krishna Pathak Memorial Eighteenth Inter-School Painting and Craft Competition was organized in memory of our late founder Smt. Krishna Pathak on Wednesday, 30th November 2022.

Around 3540 students including underprivileged children and children with special needs from 103 schools, NGOs and Special Schools across North Delhi & NCR participated in the event with great enthusiasm and spirit.  The competition commenced with a musical background followed by Lamp Lightning Ceremony by our Chief Guests Mr S K Ray (Honorary Secretary of ICPE, Mumbai) , Mr Sudheer Khurana (Manager System of ICPE, Mumbai) & Dr Amit Kumar Singh Manager at R & D UFLEX Ltd. along with our revered Director Sir Shri Somesh Rishi Pathak and esteemed Principal Ma’am Ms Rooma Pathak. The welcome song by the choir group spread the whole arena with optimism and divinity. The speech by the Chief Guests brought new ideas on how plastics can be recycled, reduced and reused.

There were different events like Painting, Graffiti, Craft, Slogan Writing, Rangoli, Collage & Mask Making etc. All the events were based on the 17 different themes of SDGs laid by the United Nations. The variety of ideas, thoughts and creativity produced by the students represented the transition from today's society to a more environmentally friendly one. With the world facing a potential climate crisis - water shortages, drought, hunger, extreme weather - sustainable development goals depicted through art work ensured a commitment and balance between economic growth, preservation of the environment and social well-being.

Revered Director Sir Shri Somesh Rishi Pathak and esteemed Principal Ma’am Ms. Rooma Pathak expressed gratitude to the Chief Guests with a token of appreciation and commended the participants for their brilliant concepts and ideas that would contribute to the development of a sustainable way of life on earth and make life worthwhile.

Times group felicitated our honorable Principal Ma’am Mrs.Rooma Pathak at mega event at “Times Education Icons 2022-23” for her incredible contribution inthe field of Education   across the North Region. on Monday 21 November  2022 at “The Grand” in Vasant Kunj amidst the presence of esteemed dignitaries - the guest of honour  Shri Satish Upadhyay ,Vice Chairman of New Delhi Municipal Council and former President of the Delhi Unit of the Bhartiya Janta Party and Shri Sat Prakash Rana Senior Leader of Bhartiya Janta Party as well as former member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly from the Bijwasan constituency.

.Her extraordinary effort to raise the educational bar at the school is admirable. Under her capable leadership M.M. Public School is successfully preparing its students to be global citizens.

The school fraternity conveys heartiest congratulations to the revered Principal ma'am under whose able guidance the school is marching ahead in fulfilling the objectives of Sustainable Development goals.

A TEAM ABOVE ALL

Under the able guidance and utter motivation of Principal, Mrs. Rooma Pathak and Director, Mr. Somesh Rishi Pathak, MMPS shining stars proved it by becoming the overall champion of CBSE Central Zone Tennis Tournament held at ASN Senior Secondary School from 26th to 29th November 2022.

Subham Sehrawat, Tarun Kapoor, Harish and Sadhak Makhija bagged a GOLD MEDAL in Under-19 boys’ team. Divya Ungrish, Ridhima Mishra, Abhigya pal and Hridya Sharma were none less than the boys as they also won the GOLD MEDAL in Under -19 girls team. Whereas, the juniors stood strong too and got the GOLD MEDAL in Under-17 girls’ team including Geetaarthi Sunaina Gaba, Kumkum Kumari, Aadya Jain and Pammi. Under-17 boys’ team including Tanmay Mittal, Govind Singh, Tejas Dabas and Shubham Gupta fell a little short and got home a BRONZE MEDAL.

All of them qualified for National level, Principal ma’am and Director Sir wished them good luck and appreciated them amid esteemed guest and all students.

“Safety is not something which you postpone, for the ideal and comfortable future, it’s the first condition necessary for the messy and unpredictable present”

To create awareness among the students about safety measures of fire and disaster management, training was conducted on Thursday, 24th November 2022 in school premises alerting everyone about the ways to respond swiftly in times of such emergencies.

The Fire drill was conducted out in the school to prepare students and teachers for any such eventuality under the fire risk reduction programme.  The purpose to organize the mock drill was to check the readiness of the school to face any such fire emergency and also to make the students and staff aware about the Fire Fighting Rescue Operation.

A group of teachers and student’s volunteers armed with necessary paraphernalia required for firefighting and rescue operations positioned themselves at vantage points to guide and assist the students in the mock fire and evacuation drill.  The students were escorted by their class teachers to the school ground after the hooter sound.  Once all had assembled on the ground, they were advised not to panic in case of any disaster.  They were instructed to be with teachers at the time of disaster and follow the instructions given to them by their teachers. The “evacuation” operation began immediately after the fire alarm alerted the students.  The students were immediately evacuated from their classrooms and asked to gather at the assembly area.  Some students were even called on stage to operate the fire-extinguishers independently.

Mock drill was monitored by revered Principal Ma’am Mrs Rooma Pathak. She addressed the assembly and had interaction with students regarding their perception of this drill.  She also addressed certain precautions to be taken care of at the time of emergency.

Thus, the session proved to be informative and an imperative lesson on life-saving skills.

It was a matter of honor and pride when our revered Principal Ma'am Mrs. Rooma Pathak was bestowed as "SDG HERO" under Global Sustainability Awards 2022 for her estimable contribution towards a sustainable future on Monday, 21 November 2022 at India International Centre, Lodhi Gardens amidst the presence of prominent dignitaries. The award was presented by ARC (a pioneer in Education for Sustainable Development), CITTA Education Foundation, TERI and Earth Day network.

Her strenuous efforts have fostered the culture of sustainability among the students of MMPS and motivated them to portray the best practices and innovations around the globe.

‘Older persons are the world's fastest growing and least used asset.’

Socializing can be a powerful way to inject more fun into your life. That's particularly true if you get to reminisce about old times or talk about the other things that interest you. In fact, a good conversation may elevate your mood and outlook more than anything else on this list, especially if you keep things jovial.

The aim is not only to introduce the young generation to their elders but also to benefit from their experiences, in addition, to make the elders feel that society values ​​them so that they do not feel deprived in old age. Around a dozen senior citizens who were at notable and prestigious posts in their youth and are still active at various social platforms were invited to the school and welcomed heartily by our Revered Principal Ms. Rooma Pathak .This initiative taken by the school was appreciated by the senior members of the society who had a nostalgic moment while in school throughout. They shared their valuable life experiences with the students and teachers. It was a great learning experience for all the three generations who thoroughly enjoyed the company of each other.

"The fire of knowledge burns all ignorance to ashes"

To pray to the almighty and also seek his blessings for the betterment of students, Hawan Ceremony was organized for students of Class VIII on 17 November2022.

The ceremony was performed religiously with divine fervor and spirituality. The whole atmosphere echoed with pure and melodious “Om Dhwanis”. The students sat before the Kund reciting the mantras and created a serene ambience. After hawan, students relished Prasad given to them.

Thus, this spiritual fervor helped in neutralizing nervousness and instilled confidence in the students.
